2019年1月17日，揭阳市政务服务数据管理局正式挂牌运作。揭阳市政务服务数据管理局整合了原市综合政务服务管理办公室的职责、市电子政务管理办公室的行政职能、市发改局的公共资源交易管理相关职责、市经信局的政务数据资源管理相关职责，是市政府的工作部门，正处级，统一负责全市行政审批制度改革、政务服务管理、“数字政府”建设、政务数据管理、公共资源交易管理等工作。
内设机构情况（含下属事业单位）：共有办公室、审批协调服务科、指导监督科、热线管理科、数字政府建设统筹科、电子政务基础设施科、政务数据管理科7个内设机构，均为正科级。下属事业单位2个，分别是：市综合政务服务信息技术中心，一类公益事业单位，正科级；市公共资源交易中心，一类公益事业单位，不定级别，主要负责人为副处级干部。
